A brief cold snap is expected to hit Shepparton on Friday, with the forecast temperature expected to drop to the lowest daily maximum since October 29 last year.

The Bureau of Meteorology is bracing Shepparton locals for a maximum of 19ºC, with a medium chance of light showers throughout the day and an overnight low of 8ºC.

On October 29, 2022, Shepparton’s daily maximum temperature hit just 18.2ºC.

Last February the lowest temperature reached in the region was also recorded on the third day of the month — a balmy 23.8ºC.

The actual temperature would have to fall well below the expected mark to break any overall records though, with February 3, 2005 the coldest summer day on record in the region at 13.5ºC.

Fear not though, after suffering through a weekend in the mid-twenties, Sheppartonians will be treated to 30ºC weather from Monday.
