Music filled the Echuca-Moama Uniting Church on Sunday, November 3, as Bella A’Capella and the Echuca Federal Band performed in a Sunday Sounds concert.

Around 80 people attended the show and spent much of the performance clapping and singing along to the line-up.

Federal Band member and Bella A’Capella conductor Marion Heywood said the show was well received by the audience.

“It was a really lovely afternoon and we got lots and lots of compliments,” she said.

“It was very entertaining for the audience because we had lots of songs that people know and there were sing-a-longs.”

The Echuca Federal Band started off the two-hour show with a selection of Australian classics including popular songs such as Waltzing Matilda and I Still Call Australia Home.

Bella A’Capella then took to the stage for a few songs, with their rendition of Shallow by Lady Gaga being especially well received by the crowd.

Both groups also performed a few songs together including, I Am Australian.

Other songs from the show included Sweet Caroline, Pomp and Circumstance, some hits of ABBA and a few from the films The Man from Snowy River and Les Misérables.

Two members from Bendigo’s Evergreen Brass Band were also present to support the band.

Mrs Heywood said after their success at Sunday Sounds, both groups are looking forward to their next performances.

“We enjoyed it so much that we will be working towards doing more performances,” she said.

The Federal Band and Bella A’Capella will perform at the Echuca-Moama Uniting Church’s carols on Sunday, December 8.

The Federal Band, accompanied by Bella A’Capella, will also be holding carols on Hare St, Echuca, on Saturday, December 14, and Saturday, December 21.
