Switched On Electronics is in the midst of changing ownership as Michael Deola hands over his role as director to Michael Morona.

The changeover has been in the works for the past few months and has finally been made official.

Mr Morona said the new role was a natural next step for him and he was confident he could carry it out.

“I’m feeling fantastic and confident about the new role,” he said.

“I’ve been a local my whole life, I love Echuca and this is another way I can give back in a way while also growing myself. It just felt like a natural next step.”

Mr Deola first took over the shop 28 years ago in a time when analog bag phones, Sony cassette Walkmans and video tape players were all the rage.

He will now hand over the reigns to Mr Morona who, before taking over Switched On, worked and managed telco shops for seven years in Melbourne and Echuca.

He brings a wealth of knowledge around customer service, people management and Telstra products and processes which will help him in his new role.

Mr Morona said he wanted to engage with the community through his new role as director.

“We’ll be attending more community events,” he said.

“We’ll be trying to head to the markets every single month and becoming more involved in the community.”

Mr Morona will also be introducing SEC services which offers home support for everything from modem set-ups to Starlink, solar systems, home security and more.

Despite the many changes, locals can still expect to see the same staff they know and trust, who will bring 14 years of knowledge and experience to the store’s new chapter.
