They are award winners. They’ve been around for 52 years. They are Australasian Country Music Roll Of Renown inductees. They are the Bushwackers — and they’re coming to Nathalia.

They will bring their energetic live show of Australian music, featuring frontman Dobe Newton and the guitar of Roger Corbett, with the addition of fiddle, bass and drums.

The music is all-Australian, with all the stories, humour and sense of history that have helped to forge our national identity, including the song I Am Australian, which was co-written by Mr Newton with Bruce Woodley of the Seekers.

The Bushwackers have been a household name for many years, popularising Australian bushdance music.

“Strangely not all that much has changed over the years,” Mr Newton, a band member of 50 years, said.

“We still bring that energy and enthusiasm to every gig.”

Local audiences have the opportunity to join in the Australian-style bushdance, or sit back, relax and enjoy the music.

The Bushwackers will be joined on the night by Australiana duo Broken Creek.

Support the support act: Erin and Lachlan Heycox of Broken Creek.
