Murchison’s Ribbons of Courage fundraising group has invited all to raise forks and funds for locals battling breast cancer with its upcoming Mother’s Day dinner.

This year, the group will host a Mother’s Day fundraising dinner alongside its beloved pink morning tea, with all proceeds going to the GV Breast Cancer Support Group.

The group has been raising money for breast cancer since 2015.

Last year, the morning tea raised over $3000.

“It’s about friends supporting friends,” Ribbon of Courage member Sharon Reilly said.

“We are trying to help and support these people, to make it easier (for them).

“Providing them with meals through vouchers, providing accommodation in Melbourne, or paying for scans, that’s what it’s all about — supporting the local community.”

The ladies of the Ribbons of Courage group have a flair for hosting fresh and engaging events and have worked hard to make the dinner memorable.

“The support from the pink morning tea is what made us want to have a go at an evening meal,” Mrs Reilly said.

“What you walk in and see this year is not what you’ll see next year. We want to make it interesting and invite everyone to keep coming back.”

The $50 admission covers a two-course meal and a welcome drink upon arrival.

From there, the evening will unfold with captivating live music setting the stage for guests to enjoy their meals and listen to the inspiring stories of guest speakers.

There will be plenty of raffles and lucky prizes to be won; attendees are encouraged to bring along their lucky charms.

Thanks to the Railway Hotel’s generous support, $10 from each ticket will directly benefit the GV Breast Cancer Support Group.

The dinner will be held at 6.30pm on Saturday, May 4, at the Railway Hotel, Murchison East, 4910 Goulburn Valley Hwy.
