Echuca’s ever-expanding west will be home to a new fast-food chain in October.

Red Rooster has announced the chain will be opening a new outlet on the Murray Valley Hwy in Echuca West, adjacent to the new Echuca West Woolworths complex.

In a statement on the franchise’s website, Red Rooster described Echuca as a regional growth centre.

The new residential developments in the west were a driving force for the location choice.

“Red Rooster Echuca will be located on the Murray Highway that borders the new Echuca West precinct,” the company said.

“(The precinct) will include 5000 new dwellings as well as the Echuca West Local Convenience Centre, a 5000 sq m retail floorspace with Woolworths and BWS as the anchor tenant.

“The site is in close proximity to existing and planned community facilities including government and non-government primary schools, a specialist school and the future Echuca West Integrated Children’s Centre (community centre) which will also include a childcare centre and swim school.”

The Red Rooster will join the existing BP Service Centre truck stop, new pharmacy and car wash in the area.

The block size will be approximately 180 sq m.

The project is estimated to cost $509,000 plus GST, including fees, however the cost is subject to a 5 per cent contingency fee.
