Warren Davies, also known as ‘the Unbreakable Farmer’, will hold a series of talks throughout Greater Shepparton.

Mr Davies is a speaker who raises awareness about mental health in rural areas.

The Kyabram man’s latest community engagement talks will focus on flood recovery and community resilience.

They will have a barbecue at 6pm before the presentation starts at 7pm.

The sessions are:

  • Monday, October 23, at Undera Recreation Reserve
  • Tuesday, October 24, at Murchison Football Netball Club
  • Wednesday, October 25, at Tallygaroopna Football Netball Club

The sessions are free, and attendees are encouraged to book at www.trybooking.com/CLKEH

Mr Davies said you won’t be turned away if you turn up on the night.

Mr Davies has spoken for almost seven years across Australia and has held recovery talks following droughts, brushfires and other natural disasters.

After starting a farming business in the Goulburn Valley, his mental health spiralled, and he had to leave his farm, symbolically unclipping his identity and feeling like a complete failure.

From there, he restarted his life and became a mental health advocate, sharing his story with like-minded rural people and providing inspiration.

“Rural communities are such great places to live in, but we’re often guarded about the things we share,” Mr Davies said.

“Inspiring those conversations is important; by sharing my story, I’m able to give people permission to share theirs and empower people to get help if they need it.”
