Three injured after garbage truck, vehicles crash on Midland Hwy

Several people are being assessed by paramedics after a garbage truck and two vehicles collided in Shepparton East on Monday, October 24.

Police said officers were investigating after a garbage truck collided with a van and a black sedan on the Midland Hwy just after 11am.

The male driver of the van was airlifted to hospital and a female passenger was taken to hospital, both with non-life threatening injuries.

The female driver of the sedan was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male truck driver was not injured and is assisting police with their inquiries.

The Midland Hwy was closed following the incident, with traffic detoured via Orrvale Rd.

Ambulance Victoria said an air ambulance helicopter had been dispatched, with emergency services including Search and Rescue and CFA working to free people from vehicles.
