The Indigo Shire Council Battle of the Bands held at the Rutherglen Community Centre recently saw a thrilling showdown.

The bands were locked in a very close contest between three solo artists, all demonstrating wide-ranging beautiful vocals in their performances and a ‘super cool’ three-piece band, The B500’s, hailing from Wangaratta.

Judges Doug Wallen, Mieke Bosland and Lex Fletcher, all with broad music industry experience, came together to announce soloist Kamali Lamba as the solo/duet winner and The B500’s as the band winner.

Judges comments about Kamali’s set were very encouraging mentioning her “polished performance and her lovely original and moving songs”.

The B500’s were described as a fun band with “nice harmonies and excellent band interaction”.

They will now go on to perform in the Battle of the Bands Grand Final, hosted by Albury City Council, at the Albury Entertainment Centre on December 14.

There is just one more opportunity for artists to compete for a place in the finals. Hosted by Towong Shire and being held in Corryong on December 13, artists can contact organiser Sal Kimber on salkimber@gmail.com to enter.
