As reported by The Telegraph, the then Prince Charles, now King Charles III, came to visit the region on Saturday, October 26, 1974.
He arrived at Mangalore airport and travelled through Seymour and Nagambie, staying overnight in Avenel.
Seymour resident Mrs Marshall, 79, was asked by her daughter if she would like to sit down as the prince walked past.
“If he’s the future king, I’ll stand for him,” she replied.
