Tracie Kyne is Rochester’s business leader

Time out: Tracie Kyne has taken on the presidency of Rochester Business Network, replacing Glenda Nichol as the town’s new “business boss’’.

Rochester’s business community is ushering in a a new era with the appointment of Tracie Kyne at the helm of the Rochester Business Network.

In a heartfelt statement, Ms Kyne expressed her gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to lead the organisation alongside the dedicated team of Megan Weeks as treasurer and Millie Cain as secretary.

“I am honoured to have been trusted with a position such as the president of the Rochester Business Network,” Ms Kyne said.

“Working with Megan and Millie, I am confident that together, we can bring a fresh perspective and drive positive change for all our member businesses.”

Ms Kyne took a moment to recognise outgoing president Glenda Nichol and secretary Beck Wolfe, whose contributions played a pivotal role in the recovery of local businesses following the devastating October 2022 floods.

“Their unwavering commitment and hard work have set a strong foundation for the future growth and resilience of the Rochester business community,” Ms Kyne said.

“I wish to thank Glenda, Beck and the entire business community for that matter, for their instrumental roles in the recovery of our businesses post the October 2022 floods. Their leadership has been commendable, and we are determined to build upon their efforts to take our businesses to new heights.”

Looking ahead, the newly-appointed president, secretary and treasurer envision a bright and promising future for all businesses in the region.

Their long-standing advocacy for shopping locally is set to play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and sustainability, and the Love Rochy campaign is just the start.

“I have always been an advocate for shopping locally and, together with the entire committee, we will continue this work,” Ms Kyne said.

“Supporting local businesses is not just about making transactions, it’s about nurturing a sense of community, fostering innovation and empowering our entrepreneurs.”

As the Rochester Business Network embarks on a new chapter, the committee is determined to spearhead initiatives that promote collaboration, foster connections and create a supportive ecosystem for businesses of all sizes and industries, both shopfronts and home-based businesses.

“We understand the challenges that lie ahead, but we firmly believe that by uniting our efforts and leveraging each other’s strengths, we can overcome any obstacle,” Ms Kyne said.

“Together, we will drive progress and prosperity, making Rochester a vibrant and dynamic hub for businesses.”

The Rochester business community eagerly anticipates the positive changes and advancements the new leadership will bring. Backed by an enthusiastic team, the future looks promising and the collective optimism is contagious.
