UPDATE: 1.50pm - Trains resuming

V/Line train services on the Seymour and Shepparton lines will resume operation after an earlier track fault at Seymour.

EARLIER: 12.30pm

A track fault has thrown public transport commuters’ Wednesday afternoon into a spin.

Coaches are replacing trains on the Seymour and Shepparton lines between Southern Cross and Seymour/Shepparton due to a track fault at Seymour.

“We ask passengers to check station platform displays and the V/Line website, listen for announcements and allow extra time for their journey,” a Department of Transport and Planning alert said.

“Engineers are working hard to rectify the fault, trains will resume as soon as the repair is made and it is safe to do so.

“The latest public transport information and network status is available at ptv.vic.gov.au, and V/Line network status is available at vline.com.au.”

The standard delay when coaches replace trains on the Seymour and Shepparton lines for planned reasons is around 50 minutes.
