Travel alert | Extreme heat timetable in place

Plan ahead and check the V/Line website.

Travellers should be plan for their journeys to take extra time, as V/Line services operate on extreme heat timetables.

A full extreme heat timetable is in place for Monday, February 3 and Tuesday, February 4 on the Shepparton and Seymour lines.

Passengers are advised to check the V/Line website before travelling for the extreme heat timetables and any changes to their service.

Passengers should also allow for extra travel time, and should consider travelling in the cooler parts of the day when possible.

Extreme heat speed restrictions come into effect when temperatures are over 36°C, to reduce any train and track faults, while keeping passengers safe.

During these restrictions, journey times will be extended and services may be replaced by coaches for some or all of the journey.

There is drinking water available on all V/Line trains, and passengers are advised to travel with bottled water and wear cool clothing.

No V/Line train, scheduled coach or replacement coach will operate in a fire district while a catastrophic fire danger rating is in place for that district.
