Award-winning Cobram author Clancy Tucker is set to release the latest book in his ‘Kick Ass Tyler’ series, promising readers an emotional and thrilling adventure in Thailand.

Mr Tucker is the author of the best-selling book Gunnedah Hero which depicts a young boy’s attempt to learn about his family’s past through old documents.

The book won two Australian National Literacy Awards.

Since then, Mr Tucker has been a prolific writer, with multiple award-winning books under his name.

His newest book is set to be released in mid-June.

The series follows the journey of a female protagonist and has been a labour of love for Mr Tucker.

“The main character in the series was called Sam Tyler who was kidnapped, and I got a good response from it, so I decided to write more books about the character,” Mr Tucker said.

The book stems from Mr Tucker's lifelong passion for Thailand and its people, making it an easy and heartfelt book to write.

“I have travelled all around Thailand and speak Thai, so I know how the country ticks,” Mr Tucker said.

The Cobram-based author has been writing books for the past 15 years, ever since he was forced to give up his day job due to chronic fatigue syndrome.

“I had to decide what to do, and I decided to follow my passions in writing,” Mr Tucker said.

He said the key to writing a good book was ensuring the narrative stayed focused and didn’t stray into tangents.

“I try and make my books interesting and ensure the narratives roll along and stay relevant to the story,” Mr Tucker said.

On average, it takes several months for Mr Tucker to write a book and he said more books were on the horizon.

As for anyone thinking about getting into writing, Mr Tucker said it’s a 100 per cent, all in, passion.

“If you haven’t got the passion, forget about it,” he said.

“There is a lot of work involved.”

Team Skippy will be available on Amazon, as a book and e-book. It will also be available from the Cobram Newsagency or by emailing the author via clancy_tucker@hotmail.com
