Two injured in Congupna crash

Update, 4.15pm:

More details have emerged about a single-vehicle crash in Congupna this afternoon.

Shepparton police Sergeant Tim Mosely said a Holden Commodore was travelling south on Goulburn Valley Hwy when it left the road and crashed into a drainage ditch on the side of the road shortly after 1.45pm.

Sgt Mosely said the car hit a large amount of concrete and wood that formed part of a driveway over a drainage ditch.

A 53-year-old woman driving the car and a man in his late 20s who was the passenger were both taken to Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed between about 1.50pm and 3.20pm, with traffic diverted via Verney Rd and Grahamvale Rd.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Earlier: Emergency services are attending a crash at Congupna on Tuesday, November 14.

Police said the crash occurred on the Goulburn Valley Hwy at at 1.45pm.

Ambulance Victoria said said one person was taken to Goulburn Valley Heath in Shepparton by road ambulance, while a second person was also taken to hospital by road ambulance.

Police said both people had non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic is being diverted around the area.
