Two men allegedly assaulted outside Shepparton nightspot

Two men were allegedly assaulted outside a Shepparton nightspot early on Saturday, January 7.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Jessica Williams said the two men – aged 61 and 48 – were allegedly assaulted outside the Skky Bar on the corner of Wyndham and Fryers Sts, Shepparton, about 3.10am.

A 61-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance.

A 48-year-old man was also injured and presented at hospital in Shepparton himself.

The injuries to both men were “non life-threatening”, Det Sen Constable Williams said.

Two men have been arrested and charged over the incident.

A man, 36, was charged with recklessly causing serious injury, while a man, 33, was charged with recklessly causing injury.

Both men have been bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in May.
