Scout leader Hannah Dunn said the girls achieved the award through their hard work.

“It’s four years of work and a dedication to themselves by growing their skills as individuals and Scouts and that looks like leadership, camping skills, bushcraft and more,” she said.

“They’ve gone and achieved their own interests and grown those and learnt new skills and throughout all that, they’ve been an amazing support to their peers and to me.”

The Peak Award or Australian Scout Award is the highest award a scout can receive on a Scout level.

In order to achieve the award, Scouts must dedicate themselves to things such as weekend courses, carrying out special interest projects, participating and assisting with activities and also continuously refining skills they have learnt over their time as a Scout.

Now that both girls have achieved their peak awards, they will be moving on from the Scouts section to become Venturers.
