Two taken to Melbourne hospital after Benalla truck crash

Two people were flown to hospital in Melbourne after a crash between two trucks on the Hume Fwy early on Wednesday, August 17.

Police said investigators were told a truck was travelling north when it allegedly hit the rear of another truck around 4am at Benalla.

A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in a stable condition with lower body injuries.

A 38-year-old man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with lower body injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.

The exact circumstances of the collision are unclear and the police investigation is ongoing.
