Three people have narrowly escaped what police said could have been another fatal crash on roads this week.
Shepparton Highway Patrol Sergeant Janne Kennedy said a car travelling south on Ardmona Rd and a car turning right from Macisaac Rd onto Ardmona Rd collided on Tuesday, November 7, at 6.30am.
Three people involved in the crash were taken to GV Health, with a passenger and driver taken with non-life-threatening injuries and one of the drivers brought in for a cautionary check, Sgt Kennedy said.
He said it was a miracle that no-one was severely hurt.
“All persons involved were extremely fortunate for it to not be life-threatening, Sgt Kennedy said.
“It could have been another fatal for our area, and that’s something we do not need or want.”
The intersection was shut down, and traffic was diverted for two hours.
By 8.30am, the scene was cleared, and traffic was back to normal.
Police are still investigating and are encouraging any witnesses to come forward and phone Leading Senior Constable Glenn Fitzgerald at Shepparton Highway Patrol on 5820 5777.
