Two women allegedly hit by car on Shepparton pedestrian crossing

Two women were allegedly hit by a car in Shepparton on Tuesday, August 22.

Police said it was believed the women were walking on a pedestrian crossing on Wyndham St, at the Vaughan St intersection, when they were allegedly struck by a vehicle about 4.45pm.

The driver, a 57-year-old woman, stopped at the scene and rendered assistance until paramedics arrived.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said a 34-year-old North Melbourne woman was treated for lower body injuries and taken to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition.

The second woman, also believed to be in her 30s, was treated for shoulder pain and taken to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition, the spokesperson said.

Police said the Shepparton driver was assisting them with their inquiries.
