The latest models of a new calendar are far from popular and not in shape.

Introducing Potholes for All Seasons, a 2025 calendar and preceding contest that invites Victorian residents to take pictures of the worst potholes in their area.

Launched by the Nationals and Liberals, the calendar will feature the winning entries and aims to draw attention to the dire state of the region’s roads.

State Member for Shepparton Kim O’Keeffe said Victoria’s roads had been going backwards for years due to road maintenance budget cuts and neglect.

“Right across our region, we know our roads are in an appalling and unsafe condition, and every single day, cars are being damaged and lives put at risk,” she said.

“It shouldn’t come as any surprise that a government survey last year found 91 per cent of roads analysed were in poor or very poor condition.

“Our cars must be roadworthy, but our roads are far from car-worthy, and the condition of regional roads is now the biggest safety concern for motorists.”

To showcase the seriousness of the issue and apply pressure for road repairs, the calendar will be presented to Premier Jacinta Allan and Roads and Road Safety Minister Melissa Horne later this month.

Ms O’Keeffe proposed that the calendar hang prominently in the offices of both the premier and the minister as a stark reminder of their oversight.

“They need to get out into the regional areas and experience what it is actually like driving on our dangerous, unsafe roads,” she said.

“As regional Victorians, we must keep the pressure on the government to fix our roads, and you can do that by uploading pics of the worst potholes you come across for the least glamorous monthly calendar ever.”

Motorists are reminded to safely take photos without endangering themselves or other road users.
