An unlicensed driver drove at 159km/h near Congupna last week, police say.
Katamatite police Leading Senior Constable Chris Westrope alleged the woman was driving at 59km/h above the speed limit on the Goulburn Valley Hwy, before they pulled her over about 3pm on Saturday, April 22.
Sen Constable Westrope said the driver told the officer, “it was her first time driving and she didn’t know how to use the controls”.
The woman’s blue Mitsubishi Magna 380 was immediately impounded at a cost of $1375.
A 21-year-old Numurkah woman is expected to be charged on summons with unlicensed driving, dangerous driving, and speeding.
