All first-preference votes have been counted for the Greater Shepparton City Council election.

Joining Rod Schubert (Midland Ward) and Sam Spinks (Poplar Ward) - who were elected unopposed - will be returning councillor and current sitting Mayor Shane Sali (Balaclava Ward) as well as Steven Threlfall (McEwen Ward).

The other five counts have moved to further preference counts ahead of an official declaration next week, although the results of those counts should continue to trickle through today (Friday).

Voter turnout in three of the seven wards within which elections were required failed to reach 80 per cent.

Head to Thursday’s story - which appeared in today’s News - for a full picture of the Goulburn River, Kialla, Lower Goulburn and Pine Lodge wards.

At the time of writing it, full first preference voting wasn’t available for the Yanha Gurtji Ward - but is now.

Only 72.05 per cent of the total 4988 enrolment voted (3594 votes) in the ward, with Fern Summer (1408 or 40.67 per cent) leading the way.

Tom Saxton is second (1060 or 30.62 per cent) from Leigh Johnson (994 or 28.71 per cent).
