Ute destroyed in suspicious circumstances

Police are investigating a suspicious vehicle fire in Shepparton late on Sunday, July 16.

Firefighters were called to the fire in Williams St about 11.50pm.

A silver Holden ute, which was parked in the street, was destroyed in the fire.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said firefighters took about four minutes to get the blaze under control, and crews remained on scene until 12.17am.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit’s Detective Senior Constable Andrew Costello said police were investigating the circumstances of the fire and believed it was suspicious.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the fire or anything unusual to contact them.
