V/Line commuters are facing further disruption to services, with strikes planned for four days this month.

The Victorian branch of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union says it intends to escalate its recent industrial action and take further industrial action on:

• Monday, February 12

• Friday, February 16

• Monday, February 19

• Friday, February 23

The move will see conductors, train controllers, shunters, station staff, customer service staff and authorised officers walk off the job for four hours between 3am and 7am.

The entire V/Line network is set to be disrupted beyond the four-hour window.

Workers have been in conversation with V/Line since June to negotiate their enterprise agreement to reflect the rising cost of living.

“Cost-of-living pressures are not just felt by metropolitan families – they are hurting regional Victorians as well,” RTBU branch secretary Vik Sharma said.

“We intend to continue these actions into the future unless satisfactory progress is made on a new Enterprise Agreement.”

Commuters are advised to make alternative travel arrangements or consider working from home on these days.
