Voting has opened to the public to decide on the new artwork for Euroa’s Seven Creeks Park.
After adopting its Public Art Policy, Strathbogie Shire Council called on artists to register expressions of interest after extensive consultation with the community.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Laura Binks said the community could choose from five artwork options.
“We are calling on you to have your say and select your favourite artwork via our online engagement platform Share Strathbogie,” she said.
“Here you can view the five finalists’ impressions along with small descriptions of the artworks.”
Cr Binks said artists were required to address the criteria outlined by council, with the community’s ideas to be considered.
“But you also told us to mix things up, to surprise you — you wanted us to embrace our region, embrace Taungurung storytelling through art and pay tribute to our history and identity,” she said.
Visit www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au to view and vote on the five finalists.
Voting closes at 5pm on Tuesday, May 2.
