A man allegedly threatened two people with a knife near Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake on January 8.

Shepparton police Sergeant Andrew Ghidetti said the man allegedly threatened to harm the people on the walking track near the cabins in the caravan park area about 11am.

There was no robbery involved with the alleged threats and the people were not known to each other.

Sgt Ghidetti said after the alleged incident the man continued along the walking path at the lake.

Police arrested him a short time later at the lake.

Three kitchen knives were found in his bag at the time of the arrest.
