It has been a busy start to term four at Waminda Community House.

Many people have been dropping by for the Wednesday coffee made by Benalla’s Flexible Learning Centre students, Thursday food relief and the free “Potluck Thursday” lunches.

Aside from our community members, we regularly welcome the folk from Yooralla and SCOPE. State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland even dropped by last week.

The Wednesdays@Waminda after-school program, led by Kate Holmes, has been very busy.

The children made drums and had a session around dog handling and flower arranging, all the while building their social skills, literacy and personal wellbeing.

Earlier in the month, a new board of management was elected.

Waminda welcomed Simone Sammon and Hamish McPherson, while thanking outgoing, long-serving board members Barbara Alexander and Kyra Rheese.

Waminda is looking for a treasurer, so if you have the right skills and have a spare two to three hours per month, please call Leeane on 5762 4528 to express your interest.

Waminda also has a first aid course starting Monday, November 13 from 9am to 3pm.

This course is open to individuals and workplaces who may need to update their CPR or complete a first aid course.

The personnel group is helping out with resumes, career planning and job search fortnightly on a Tuesday.

Learn financial skills, build your confidence and secure your future when you attend the free “Girl, It’s your money” session for 17 to 39-year-olds on Wednesday, November 15 from 10am to 1.30pm.

New for term four is the Chitter Chatter Social Group, held fortnightly on a Wednesday from 10am to 11.30am.

This is a great place to enjoy a cuppa and a slice for just $4, while meeting new people.

You never know you, might meet your new best friend.

There is something for everyone at Waminda Community House.
