A dog running across the road caused a busy Shepparton street to be closed on Tuesday, July 18.

Police said two vehicles collided after a dog ran on to The Boulevard about 12.20pm.

Police said a Volvo wagon, which braked to avoid hitting the dog that ran across the road in front of it, was hit from behind by a Holden Commodore sedan.

No-one in the cars, or the dog, was injured.

The road was closed for about 30 minutes near the Mason St intersection while the scene was cleared up.
