The Welsford St car park will close from Wednesday, February 15 until Tuesday, March 7 due to road reconstruction.

Customers will not be able to park their vehicles in the car park or enter businesses through the rear entry from the Welsford St car park during this time.

Access to the businesses will be maintained via Wyndham St.

Businesses last month said they would face additional pain by losing customers due to the car park closure.

Greater Shepparton City Council is planning to construct asphalt pavement on Welsford St, with stage four of the Welsford St Redevelopment on schedule.

Stages one through three included upgrading Welsford St between Knight St and Nixon St, widening the road to two lanes in each direction, and the addition of turning traffic lights to the intersection.

Stage four will include upgrading traffic lights at the Welsford St to Fryers St intersection, as well as resurfacing the road.

Completion of the stage four works is expected in next month.
