What’s on these school holidays

If you’re looking for something to keep the kids entertained this school holidays, then you’re in luck.

Greater Shepparton has an exciting line-up of free and paid activities running over the course of the school holidays starting September 21.

The News has compiled a list of fun for the whole family.

WEEK ONE

GLOW Roller Disco

Kick off the holidays with the GLOW Roller Disco as it returns to Shepparton for Youth Fest. Enjoy food, make friends and learn to skate, all set to a shimmering disco beat.

When: Saturday, September 21. Three three-hour sessions. From 11am to 10pm.

Where: Shepparton Showgrounds

Cost: Free for ages 12-25, adults are $25 and children under 11 are $20 per person.

Sustainable art with Bula Temporaria

Discover the endless possibilities of everyday recyclable materials and create a piece of mixed media art. For artists and newcomers, aged 12 to 25.

When: Saturday, September 21 from noon to 1.30pm

Where: South Shepparton Community House, 290-300 Archer St.

Cost: Free

Book Inn book sale

The Shepparton Book Inn is having a sale for the duration of the school holidays. Snag four books for only $2 — enough to keep even the most proficient book readers busy.

When: September 23 to October 4, from 10am to 4pm

Sooshi Mango presents ‘Home made’

Australian-Italian comedy troupe Sooshi Mango are hitting Shepparton stages with a brand-new show featuring the same lovable characters in hilarious new scenarios.

When: Tuesday, September 24 at 7pm

Shepparton Brewery and Toyworld’s Lego night

Drop in to the Shepparton Brewery for pizza, a drink, and an evening of Lego fun for just $20 per person.

When: Tuesday, September 24, from 5pm to 8pm

Where: Shepparton Brewery, 15 Edward St, Shepparton

AFL-themed Pool Party

Show support for your team by wearing their colours and dive in to an afternoon of fun at Aquamoves. Fun on offer includes pool basketball, rapid river and more.

When: Thursday, September 26. From noon to 4pm, September 26.

Where: Aquamoves, 25 Tom Collins Dve, Shepparton

Cost: $4.70 children, $7.20 adult, or $19.10 for two adults and three children

Messy Play and Giant Games

Tap into your creative side and get your hands dirty, with giant games and messy play. For ages 6 and under.

When: September 26, from 11am to 1pm

Where: Kidstown, Mooroopna

Cost: Free

Free skateboarding lessons hosted by Shredability

Pick up a new hobby and learn how to skate by Australian Skateboarding Federation-trained trainers. Equipment is to be supplied, but people are encouraged to bring their own.

BMX/Skate/Scoot Competition and Art Workshop

Show off your new skills in a BMX, skate and scoot competition judged by international judge Renton Millar for a chance at first, second and third place.

Registrations for the competition open on the day, so come early with your equipment to secure your spot.

Paint your own skateboard deck with First Nations artist Tammy Lee Atkinson. All materials are provided. Register on the day, or via email at youth@shepparton.vic.gov.au

When: Sunday, September 29. Scoot: 11am; BMX: 12.30; Skate: 1.30. Art workshop begins at 10am.

Mooroopna Market

After a successful return, the Mooroopna Market is back once again. Browse stalls from local suppliers and crafters and enjoy music and entertainment for the whole family.

When: Saturday, September 29 from 9am to 2pm
