Shepparton Agricultural Show

The Shepparton Agricultural Show is being held on Friday and Saturday at the Shepparton Showgrounds.

Prices are $50 for families, $20 for adults and $15 for pensioners, veterans and secondary school students. Free entry up to 14 years of age.

Gates open at 10am and close at 10pm.

Australian Mixed Ultimate Championships

The Australian Mixed Ultimate Championships are being held from Friday to Sunday at Shepparton Sports City.

It is a national-level event that involves Australia’s top teams, and entry is free.

Tania Kernaghan Victorian Seniors Festival concert

Country singer Tania Kernaghan will perform at Shepparton Senior Citizens Centre.

Tickets are $5.

Performance times are 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm.

Author’s talk — Ryan Butta

Author Ryan Butta will be discussing his book The Ballad of Abdul Wade, which is about Afghan camel drivers in Australia, at Shepparton Library.

Cost is free.

Saturday

This Girl Can ‘Move it Beginners’

A beginner-level exercise session for women who have never exercised, haven’t exercised much or have found the gym too intimidating. The session will comprise a warm-up and stretching session before moving into body weight exercise only. No burpees.

Cost is free and the event is being held at Katandra West Recreation Reserve between 9am and 9.45am.

Violet Town Community Market

Violet Town is holding its monthly market.

Entry is free.

Market is open from 8.30am to 1pm.

Sunday

Aquamoves Open Day

Aquamoves is hosting an open day, with access to various classes as well as pools, gym, spas and saunas.

Entry is $5.

Kite-making workshop

Held at Murchison Recreation Reserve, Murchison, this free activity is open to kids of all ages.

Comfortable outdoor clothing is recommended.

The workshop runs from 10am to noon.

Mindful Meditation

A guided meditation for adults only, the Mindful Meditation Session seeks to help individuals with stress management, self-care and mental health and wellbeing, while being out in nature.

Entry is free.

The workshop runs between 10am and 11am at Queen’s Gardens.

Blessing of the Animals

St Brendan’s Church is inviting animal owners to bring along their pets for its annual Blessing of the Animals. The event is in honour of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, whose Feast Day is celebrated on October 4. All animals need to be on leads, in cages or carriers. After the blessings those who are able may join Fr Joe and his dog Mausgras for a walk around the lake. Those without pets are still welcome to join.

The blessing is being held at 3pm at the north shore of Victoria Park Lake, near the tennis courts/boat ramp in Shepparton.
