The skies celebrated the new year with a strong aurora being visible globally, even in Whiteheads Creek, during the first days of 2025.
Two coronal mass ejections struck Earth’s magnetic field on New Year’s Eve, resulting in a geomagnetic storm that coloured the night sky in purples, pinks, greens and reds.
