A new group has been formed to seek answers on the proposed Nanneella-Koyuga wind farm.

The Koyuga Nanneella Opposed to Wind Turbines group was established soon after it became known that a wind farm was proposed for the area.

Fera Australia is planning two wind farms in the region (one in the Nanneella-Koyuga district) with up to 25 turbines in each.

KNOWT member Amanda Souter, from Koyuga, said it was an informal group of individuals concerned about what was being proposed.

“We want the community at large to be aware of what is going on and to give the other side of the story,” Ms Souter said.

She was concerned there was a lack of transparency about the proposal.

“We want the community to be aware of all the information from both sides.”
