A woman has been charged following an alleged hit-and-run in Cobram in the early hours of New Year’s Day which left a woman with “life-threatening injuries”.
Police said a car allegedly struck a pedestrian following an altercation on Acacia Street about 12.40am on Sunday, January 1.
The driver of the car allegedly fled the scene, then later handed herself in to police.
The woman who was struck was taken to Melbourne with life-threatening injuries.
Wangaratta Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged the 21-year-old driver, who is from Cobram, late on New Year’s Day with dangerous driving causing serious injury and recklessly causing serious injury.
She’s been bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 6 January.
