A woman in her 70s was hospitalised with life-threatening injuries on Tuesday night, following a collision between a B-double truck and a car at Katandra West.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have been told the vehicles collided near the intersection of Sidebottoms Rd and Katandra Main Rd just before 7.30pm on February 7.

The driver of the car, a Yabba North woman, 75, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition.

Her passenger, a 75-year-old NSW woman, was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in a critical condition, with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, a Nyora man, 48, did not require emergency treatment or transport and is assisting police.

The exact circumstances of the crash are yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information, dashcam vision or who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

It was the second serious crash in the region on Tuesday. Earlier in the day a truck driver was killed in a collision between a truck and car at Yalca, near Cobram.
