Woolworths stand-off ends

A man has been taken into police custody following a three-hour stand-off at Woolworths in Cobram.

Police received reports of a man in his mid-40s allegedly causing property damage from the roof of the Woolworths store on Punt Rd around 5am on Monday, February 17.

The man is known to police.

Following negotiations, the man was safely talked down from the roof around 8.30am.

Police said nobody was reported injured, although charges may be pressed at a later date.

Officers from the Numurkah, Cobram and Tungamah police units attended the scene, and were assisted by the Cobram CFA and Ambulance Victoria.
