Working smoke alarms save lives

Deniliquin Fire + Rescue NSW attended a kitchen fire at 6.43am on Saturday.

The residents were woken by a working smoke alarm, and quickly extinguished a stove top fire.

Brigade Captain Marty Smith said 10 firefighters, with two fire trucks, attended to complete the job for them.

“There was minor damage to the stove, range hood and cupboards,” he said.

“We cannot express enough that working smoke alarms save lives.”
