A new $625 million Echuca West community has received permit approval for the first stages of development.

Wel.Co’s Yallarah Estate is expected to deliver $38 million in major infrastructure enhancements to the area, with more to be spent on additional infrastructure works separate to the Yallarah masterplan.

“The permit approval and subsequent commencement of the construction phase marks an exciting chapter in our journey toward creating a vibrant, inclusive and thriving neighbourhood in Echuca,” Wel.Co head of residential property Robert Hondromatidis said.

“Yallarah aims to redefine the standard of regional contemporary living, blending sustainable design principles with a focus on community engagement and environmental stewardship.”

Expected benefits: The Yallarah Estate is expected to deliver $38 million in major infrastructure enhancements to the area.

The new estate will make 2000 home sites available, as part of the first approved planning permit in the recently gazetted Echuca West Precinct Structure Plan.

Managing director Andrew Welsh said adding value to the area and paying homage to Echuca was top of mind, especially with such a growing population.

“At Wel.Co, we are committed to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of local areas such as Echuca,” he said.

“As development partners across our portfolio, we thrive on getting successful outcomes for the original landowners, many of which have had to face numerous challenges and roadblocks over many years trying to obtain approvals.

“By overcoming these obstacles while understanding the importance of maintaining the integrity of the local culture, we have demonstrated Wel.Co’s significant contribution to the growth and vibrancy of the community.”
