Announcement: A new Yooralla training program is open for applications.

Yooralla has released a new disability support training program for northern Victoria.

The three-day program is accepting applicants from Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley, and will serve as an introductory program into disability support work.

The program will allow participants to interact with Yooralla’s clients in their homes and community environments, learn about the company’s approaches to clients and have support from staff.

Kaukua, who recently completed the program in Melbourne, found the program to be engaging.

“I found it very interesting and it has been a very good learning experience for me and … helped people like me to get a chance to get a sense of what it is really like to work in the disability sector,” she said.

“This really helped me to make better decisions and understand what the role is about and what it involves.”

Applications will close on May 3, with training to take place in Benalla from May 9 to 11. Participants may be offered first-aid training and ongoing opportunities with Yooralla in a disability support role.
