Young flautist treats hostel to performance

Young musician Jessie Ashcroft (front) with her mother Kristy Ashcroft and great-grandmother Betty Crow.

Residents at the Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel were treated to a special performance last week when Jessie Ashcroft attended the hostel to play the flute for residents.

Jessie is 16 years old and has played the flute for three years.

She has a goal of going to university to complete a Bachelor’s degree in music and recently completed work experience with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Jessie is the great-granddaughter of one of the hostel’s residents, Betty Crow, making it even more special for those in attendance.

It made for a very magical morning had by all and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

Well done Jessie on spreading joy in our community.

Jessie is available for performance bookings with a wide repertoire of music.
