The skills and achievements of young Victorians are in the spotlight this month.

September marks a month-long youth festival, delivered with support from the Victorian Government.

This year’s Youth Fest program is packed full of exciting events and activities co-designed and delivered by young people.

Grants of up to $2000 were awarded by the Victorian Government to 1100 recipients including schools, local governments and community organisations to support the events and activities. The total cost of investment in grants is close to $220,000.

Grant recipients have worked with Victorians aged 12 to 25 across Victoria to deliver festival events and activities.

The festival will see a range of events across metropolitan and regional areas.

Events in Greater Shepparton include a Taylor Swift Trivia event and Shepparton Skate Competition / Art Workshop.

Other events in the region include the Echuca Moama Youth Expo, the Multicultural Food Festival in Cobram, and the Here and Now Youth Festival in Nagambie.

“Youth Fest is yet another way we’re giving young people opportunities to express their ideas and have their voices heard,” Victorian Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman said.

“Our state’s young people are bursting with creativity, leadership skills and talent – and we're supporting them to shine.
