Thank you for printing Jeff Davy’s letter, ‘Cost-of-living crisis hurting? Blame John Howard’ in The News on March 17 — it is right on the mark with an election in the offing.
John Howard not only gave us ‘import parity pricing’ for Australian energy needs but rubbed salt into the wound by introducing the ‘never-ever GST’ to our current energy costs. Yes, 10 per cent tax is added to every energy account, a socialist government’s dream come true and introduced by a Liberal!
Mr Davy admonishes people to ‘change the way you vote’ and I have to agree with him there but surely there must be better alternative than the current situation.
We can ‘change the jockey’ but the bloody horse is still going the wrong way!
