I am writing to urge the community to support my candidacy in the upcoming council election for the Goulburn River Ward. As a dedicated member of this community, I believe that effective leadership is rooted in transparency, collaboration and a commitment to the needs of all residents. I am the fifth generation of a local farming family in Toolamba, and currently own and operate my family business in Toolamba, The Junction Hotel.
My experience in agriculture and operating my own business has equipped me with the skills to tackle the challenges our community faces. I am passionate about supporting our small businesses and primary producers, addressing drainage issues, promoting sustainable development and accessibility for all people, advocating for value for rates and driving money into our economy via our primary producers, retailers and tourism. With community consultation, we can outline a clear plan to achieve a better environment for everyone.
I understand the importance of listening to residents’ concerns and fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard. My commitment to open, respectful dialogue and community engagement will ensure that I represent the diverse needs and aspirations of our residents. As an individual who plans on settling in Toolamba and building my own roots in the community, I consider myself a stakeholder in the future of our region.
If elected as our council representative, I want to hear about the issues of our community on an ongoing basis. Together, we can build a brighter future. I respectfully ask for your vote and support in this important election.
Remember to number every box from one to six on your postal ballot paper and return it to the VEC office or post it before 6pm on Friday, October 25.
Thank you for your consideration.
Emmersyn Rea, candidate for Goulburn River Ward
