What a delightful article on Shepparton’s Mai Abdelmawgoud, a 2025 Haywire winner.

Haywire is a fabulous initiative and I applaud her wholeheartedly.

Anybody who has an accent is twice as smart as a person who does not because it means that they can speak a second language.

To rise above so many obstacles is testament to her determination and courage.

I am now on Day 280 of learning Spanish online, and although I am progressing, my struggle is real.

I need to be in a class with others so that we can all interact and forge ahead.

I have emailed a number of educational institutions in the area, but response has been negligible.

If anybody is a Spanish educator that teaches classes, please count me in.

We have a multicultural society here, and I reckon there must be somebody else out there who wants to learn Spanish, if only to be able to order their delish food.
