The Institute of Public Affairs piece on Friday’s letters page regarding removing any safeguards for consumers or the environment in favour of big business profits should not be an opinion on the letters page. Just like politicians from both sides using the free opinion pages to preach their parties’ gospel, these organisations should pay for newspaper space. The IPA is backed by big businesses and billionaires, while MPs have big advertising budgets, so leave letters for real, local opinions.
