Letter to the editor | Replacement buses

In reference to your article (’Buses to replace trains along Shepparton line’, The News, November 25), residents and commuters in Greater Shepparton will be deeply frustrated to hear that they must once again catch replacement buses, more than 12 months after rail works were scheduled for completion and additional train services should have been delivered.

In August 2021, Premier Jacinta Allan promised that by 2023 the stage three upgrade works on the Shepparton rail line would be complete, and nine weekday return services would be up and running.

But in true Labor fashion, that promise has been broken.

It is now almost 2025 and infrastructure works have still not been completed, and the new train services are nowhere to be seen.

The Allan Labor Government has proven through constant delays and cost over-runs that it can’t manage money or projects, and unfortunately, Shepparton residents are paying the price.
