Small Grants program to open in July

Coming in July: A GSF grant in 2022 contributed to Horses for Hope, an equine-assisted therapy that brings horses and humans together to improve the lives of both.

This year Greater Shepparton Foundation’s Small Grants program will open on July 3.

It is our priority to respond to community need and identify place-based solutions. The best way to see where the need is, is to be out in the community learning and listening to frontline service providers and first responders.

In response to our learnings, we have decided to expand our grants program and will be adding two additional focus areas to enable local not-for-profit organisations to apply for a grant for projects that assist in:

• community flood recovery; and

• projects that reduce the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis.

These additional projects were made possible by the generous donations made during our Community Flood Recovery Campaign, and this year all funds raised as part of our End of Financial Year Appeal will be directed to projects that support the most vulnerable in our community.

Anyone who donates via these campaigns can feel confident that 100 per cent of all donations made will directly support those grassroots community programs that support those doing it tough.

In addition to the above new focus areas, we again encourage applications for local projects in the areas of social inclusion; youth employment; ageing well; housing insecurity; safe families; and economic engagement.

We know the need is great, so we have also increased the amount of funding that can be applied for to $10,000.

Our grants program not only allows us to support community-led projects that meet an immediate need, it also provides us with valuable insight into what is being delivered by the community and where we might be able to assist in the future.

Organisations that meet our funding criteria are encouraged to apply to our Small Grants program for their eligible projects.

Grant guidelines will be available next month. If you have a project you wish to discuss, please contact us at info@greatershepparton.foundation
