About $7000 worth of electrical items were stolen from a Shepparton business overnight on Monday, December 2.

Police said a person broke into Big W at Shepparton Marketplace in Benalla Rd sometime between the store closing on Monday and reopening Tuesday morning.

Mobile phones and iPads and were stolen in the burglary after the thief got in through a fire entry door, police said.

The theft was discovered by workers when they arrived to work on Tuesday.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the break-in.
