Police are appealing for information about an apparent motorcycle crash on the Peter Ross-Edwards Causeway.

On Sunday, February 18 at 10.20pm, police received multiple calls from the public reporting an abandoned black Harley-Davidson motorcycle leaning on a barrier near the KidsTown intersection.

Police said the motorcyclist appeared to be heading in the direction of Mooroopna.

Once police arrived at the scene, they found clear signs of a collision, such as gauges on the road and extensive damage to the bike, but no rider.

Due to concerns that there might be an injured motorcyclist nearby, Fire Rescue Victoria, Victoria Police, CFA, Shepparton Search and Rescue, and Ambulance Victoria conducted a search.

However, no rider was found, and no-one had presented to GV Health.

No-one who reported the crash saw the incident occur, so police are appealing to the public for more information.

If you have any information about the incident, contact Shepparton police on 5820 5777 or CrimeStoppers at 1800 333 000.
